I designed this blog to serve as a resource to the intermediate and advanced students of Arabic. It is expected that you have an understanding of Arabic grammar. This does not mean that this site cannot be useful for the beginning student. However, if you are writing research papers in the target language you are likely beyond that point.
Writing is my weakest competency area so I have been collecting phrases that have proven useful to me in my time as an Arabic student. It has been a helpful exercise in procrastination. They are additionally useful in classroom discussion.
Use this site as an academic phrasebank. I have included a sample essay and as you will see, you do not have to reinvent the wheel when it comes to formatting your writing. If you are confused about the use of a structure, put it into a Google news search so you can see a variety of examples for proper use.
I have done my best to categorize the phrases in a logical fashion but I am still working out the bugs. If you spot any issues please let me know in the comments section.
